Three intersections on the western leg of the South Lawrence Trafficway have become so dangerous that they’ve produced 53 accidents in 20 months, Kansas Department of Transportation statistics show.
It is the latest sign that a completed South Lawrence Trafficway has become a more dangerous South Lawrence Trafficway. State leaders are now using the accident totals to justify planned changes for the road, including installation of flashing warning lights at the Wakarusa Drive intersection.
